My Story
My name is Alisher, I'm 35 years old. I moved to Canada (Montreal) in 2022 from Kyrgyzstan. I work as a product manager at a financial technology company. I got married at 22, divorced in Canada in 2023. I have three kids — 11, 9, and 5 years old.
My biggest challenge has been finances. Life in Canada keeps getting more expensive, especially with three children. Even a good salary doesn't guarantee you'll have enough — extracurriculars, tutors, swimming lessons, sports programs, language classes. My second challenge is time: work, household responsibilities, kids, and all of this while building a credit history from scratch.
Why I Built Credit Score Hero
When I arrived in Canada, I had zero credit history. No score, no history, nothing. I quickly learned that in Canada, your credit score determines everything — whether you can rent an apartment, get a phone plan, finance a car, or eventually qualify for a mortgage.
As someone working in fintech, I understood the system. But I also saw how confusing it was for other newcomers and for Canadians going through tough times — bankruptcy, divorce, overwhelming student debt, payday loan traps. The information out there is mostly American, and Canadian credit works differently: different bureaus, different laws, different products.
I built Credit Score Hero to give Canadians the tools I wished I had. A 90-second quiz that creates a personalized recovery plan. A calculator that shows exactly how much bad credit is costing you. Letter templates for dealing with collection agencies. And honest, Canada-specific guides — not generic advice copied from American websites.
What Makes This Different
- 100% Canada-specific — Equifax Canada, TransUnion Canada, Canadian laws, Canadian products. No American advice pretending to apply here.
- Built by someone who's been there — I'm an immigrant who had to build credit from zero. I went through a divorce. I'm raising three kids on a single income. I know what financial stress looks like.
- Fintech expertise — As a product manager in financial services, I understand how credit scoring, lending, and financial products actually work behind the scenes.
- Everything is free — The quiz, calculators, letter templates, and guides are all free. We earn affiliate commissions when you sign up for products we recommend, but our recommendations are never influenced by commissions.
My Credentials
I'm a product manager in fintech — I work with financial products, payment systems, and customer data every day. Before moving to Canada, I had extensive experience in digital product management. You can see my full professional background on LinkedIn.
More importantly, I'm a real person going through the same financial challenges as the people I'm trying to help. I'm not a faceless corporation or a content farm. Every article on this site is informed by real Canadian financial data, real product research, and real experience navigating the Canadian credit system.

How We Make Money
Transparency matters. Credit Score Hero earns affiliate commissions when you sign up for financial products through our links — companies like Borrowell, KOHO, Capital One Canada, and others. This is how we keep every tool free.
Important: affiliate relationships never influence our recommendations. If a product isn't good for credit recovery, we don't recommend it, regardless of commission. We also recommend many free resources (Credit Counselling Canada, FCAC, provincial regulators) that pay us nothing.
